History of the Trophy

This trophy is a historic and rare piece, commemorating the 1st International Taekwondo Tournament organized by NDAP, on June 11, 1966. Dedicated to the 1st Classified Team, it represents a pioneering era of the martial art in Portugal or Europe, when Taekwondo was still taking its first steps outside Korea. With a sober and traditional appearance, it carries an immeasurable symbolic value.
